You ask me for a story. Yet I have none. And so, I will relate to you a dream.
The girl ran away, her fast falling tears flying as she did. She couldn't return; that much was obvious. She wanted to, but -- it had changed. Whenever she set foot there, the walls seemed to loom up above her, higher, and higher. My darling, it was only a dream.
So she did the one thing she hadn't done: She ran. She had tried to explain, tried to fight, tried to avoid the hurt. Instead, she stumbled, and fell. And stood up again, ready to try something else. My darling, it was only a dream.
Creating her own home, rather than finding it. Evergreen Valley? No, that was for then. Spilling Ink? No, she couldn't use that. None of those were right. They were all intended for different times, different places, with different people. My darling, it was only a dream.
And then, it came back to her. Her former reputation. A fangirly person, who would be there with a kind word, a hug. A crazy girl who would scream things that didn't make sense, such as ALL CAKES ARE PIES, THERE ARE NO CAKES ONLY PIES!!! Which was a pity, as she particularly liked cakes. A girl who would stop for a moment and just listen when the rest of the world wouldn't. And she would fight. My darling, it was only a dream.
Remember December, she had said. Remember. And then, it came to her. The Fandom Gathering. A roleplay site for all fandoms, really. Based on Christian values. The same ones that had got her here. To this castle of her dreams. It had been lurking there, waiting to show itself at the proper time. My darling, it was only a dream.
An elfin maid then came to her aid. Helping her build this castle, and then calling the others to it, that they too might find a place of solace. Once it was finished, and then, only then, could the others truly be called. My darling, I now find that it wasn't a dream. I am that girl. That silly, flighty girl who even now is trying to finish the castle, trying to protect a few. I will always want more for it, for my people. Some days, you will see me dancing on top, among the towers. With the birds.
With my friends in other worlds.
